Integrated communication system Schiphol Control Centre
 The integration of the Terminal operations room and the Lorac incident room created a new incident room: the Schiphol Control Centre.
Hessing contributed to this project by developing a communications and operating system which enables the system to be controlled by means of an “All-in-one” PC touch display screen. In partnership with N.V. Ferranti Computer Systems S.A., Hessing integrated the system into Schiphol’s existing information systems. This integration has speeded up the processing of incoming notifications.
The communications system now allows the operator to control telephone lines, call up different radio channels and link up with various Hessing intercom exchanges such as the Locker intercom, Parking intercom and OD intercom.
The Schiphol Control Centre project included the supply, installation, operational delivery and maintenance of a complete communications system consisting of:
- 9 operating positions including consoles
- 20 transmitter/receivers
- 48 telephone lines
- 256 intercom stations
- IMS broadcasting system
